Core Analysis quality starts with correct wellsite handling. It is vital that the personnel handling the core at the wellsite be fully trained and aware of the need for careful attention to be given to the orientation, marking and preservation of the core.

Proper packing will ensure cores arrive at the core analysis laboratory in the best condition and without jeopardising the core integrity. Any delay in sampling of the cores can result in alteration of the fluid distribution within the cores thus impacting subsequent analyses.
