FORMATION DAMAGE GEOLOGIST – Aberdeen, UK (Ref: 08/010)

An immediate full time vacancy exists in our Aberdeen office for an enthusiastic Geology/Geoscience graduate (must be educated to at least honours degree level) to work within the Formation Damage Department (which undertakes petrographic interpretation of core material used to investigate the use of chemicals in the oil and gas industry).

Responsibilities will include:

  • Report writing (including interpretation of geological analysis)
  • Petrography preparation and analysis (Thin Section, Dry and Cryogenic SEM and XRD analysis)
  • Administration and project co-ordination
  • Eventual liaisons with clients as well as attending meetings, both in Aberdeen and abroad
  • Opportunity to undertake petrological analysis off site for short periods of time
  • With time and experience, opportunities will arise to become involved in giving technical presentations at conferences and also contributing to the writing of formation damage papers.

Candidates must be able to multi-task, work under pressure and work to a strict time schedule.

Previous experience would be advantageous, but is not necessary, as full training will be given to the successful candidate.
